LAUREL, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aquilent today announced that it has been awarded one of the Department of Interior’s (DOI) Foundation Cloud Hosting Services IDIQ contracts that will provide DOI and their civilian and DOD customers with access to foundational cloud solutions and services.

Aquilent’s IDIQ contract supports DOI's cloud infrastructure foundation with six technical service lines including: storage, secure file transfer, virtual machines, database hosting, web hosting, and development and test environments. Awarded by the DOI Acquisition Services Directorate, within the Interior Business Center, these IDIQ contracts will help DOI and its customers meet the objectives outlined by the Federal Cloud First Policy and Digital Government Strategy.

“As pioneers in cloud computing, early on we recognized the opportunity of the cloud to save the federal government billions of dollars," stated Aquilent CEO David Fout. “We have since been committed to offering the government a full range of services and solutions to support their migration to the cloud and to help them leverage its evolving capabilities. We are excited to be a part of the new DOI IDIQ, the first cloud contract of its type that allows customers to procure cloud services from multiple providers and combine them with the professional services of cloud integration specialists.”

This contract joins Aquilent's portfolio of cloud friendly contracts such as GSA IT-70 and CIO-SP3, further enabling federal customers to easily leverage the powerful cost savings and economies of scale through strategic cloud offerings.
