OJP – e-OJP Enterprise Portal

 THE OBJECTIVE

To provide the Department of Justice's Office of Justice Programs (OJP) with a controlled access to intranet content and Web-based applications for internal users. The system required workflow, process automation, project development and collaboration to provide for wider distribution of information, reduce the cost of web-enabling the enterprise and to implement standard document management.

 THE SOLUTION

Aquilent implemented and deployed the e-OJP Enterprise Portal, which was built on the Plumtree Enterprise Portal software. We developed more than a dozen custom portlets to provide access to Web-based information and applications.

One of the most important portlets was the Grants Management System Dashboard (GMS Dashboard). The GMS Dashboard provides live data reporting for awards, funds distribution, and solicitations awarded within OJP. Prior to the development of the GMS Dashboard, access to these reports was tightly limited to a few gatekeepers within the organization. The GMS Dashboard portlet opened up access to this vital data throughout OJP.

To facilitate OJP's transition to the new system, we:

  • Provided change management

  • Developed and delivered classroom training sessions

  • Provided documentation manuals and job aids

  • Developed web-based self-serve training movies

 THE PAYOFF

Aquilent launched the pilot for the e-OJP Portal within 90 days of the project start. e-OJP is the homepage for approximately 1200 OJP employees. e-OJP also:

  • Supports Government Performance Results Act and Government Paperwork Elimination Act
  • Enables cross-program collaboration
  • Supports interagency partnerships and collaboration
