To Blog or Not to Blog?

Aquilent has been at the forefront of social media for the past several years. We have embraced it as an effective channel of collaboration with employees and prospective employees and are including it as a key element of solutions that we offer to our customers. So why, you ask, did we wait until now to blog?

There has been a lot of discussion around our office about creating an Aquilent blog.  We’ve debated questions like, “What will we blog about? Who will blog? What is the purpose?” and unfortunately, you’d get a different opinion from whomever you asked. Just like any initiative we undertake, it was important for us to set a clear vision and develop a plan.  After much planning, I’m happy to say that we are taking the plunge and starting the Aquilent blog – welcome to our first blog post!

My name is David Fout and I am the President and CEO of Aquilent.  I have the privilege to be our first blogger.

So, “What  will we blog about?”  Because Aquilent is a leading provider of Web-based solutions for the federal government, we will be blogging about various problems, solutions, technologies, trends, architectures and best practices that are applicable to our industry.

This leads to the next question, “Who will blog?” Since Aquilent possesses such a deep and talented pool of thought leaders, subject matter experts, and technologists, the answer is easy — anybody that has something compelling to share!  And finally, the most important question is “Why should we blog?”  Our goal is to create a deeper collaboration with our stakeholders and to share our philosophies, best practices, opinions and ideas…and to hear yours.

I am extremely excited about this initiative and look forward to watching it evolve. I encourage you to check back often and participate by commenting on our posts.

So to answer the question “To blog or not to blog?”  The answer is most definitely “yes – let’s blog!”
