LAUREL, MD, October 16, 2006 – Aquilent, Inc. announced today the award of a five year, Blanket Purchase Order Contract with United States Geological Survey to provide web development, management and related services.
United States Geological Survey (USGS) is part of the US Department of Interior and serves the nation as the largest water, earth, and biological science and civilian mapping agency. USGS collects, monitors, analyzes, and provides scientific understanding about natural resource conditions, issues, and problems. The USGS Web presence is made up of hundreds of Web sites through which users get USGS information and products, such as maps, aerial photographs, and remote sensing data.

Aquilent’s project team will work with the USGS Web team in designing and implementing enhanced Web Presence to support the USGS mission. USGS goals are to improve the visual appeal, usability of content and navigation, dynamic functionality, and breadth of content.
Aquilent will advise USGS about current Web technology and best-practices including design, human factors engineering, usability and accessibility, dynamic content, e-commerce, search engine optimization, and implementation of content management solutions.
The initial task orders awarded through this BPA include support for USGS’ Marketplace E-Commerce portal and Web analytics strategy development.
