Contract for Comprehensive Analysis, Redesign, and
Implementation of a New CFTC.Gov Website
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LAUREL , MD , October 1, 2005 - Aquilent, Inc. announced today the award of a task order from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to provide a comprehensive analysis and redesign of CFTC.gov.
CFTC.gov is the Commission's primary tool for communicating with industry, the public, Congress, and the press, and is a primary research tool for CFTC staff. The Commission's mission changed considerably following the passage of the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000. Because CFTC.gov is a key enabler to CFTC's regulatory mission, this is a critical initiative to improve their web presence and to provide a more usable and consistent experience for CFTC customers.
"CFTC.gov is a fundamental element of the Commission's day to day business," said David Fout, Aquilent's President and CEO. "This project is a great example of where we can apply our multi-disciplinary and business objective focused approach to deliver outstanding results. I look forward to working in close partnership with the great people at CFTC."
Aquilent's project team will be comprised of members of the technical, business, and user experience disciplines. The project will focus on improving CFTC's web presence, improving usability of the website, and providing a consistent customer experience. The project will also build upon the Commission's current content models, taxonomy, and controlled vocabulary to ensure a design for enterprise-wide and extensible use. Aquilent will also conduct a technology assessment of the web infrastructure and COTS tools for email, content management, search, reporting and hosting.
