Aquilent and LS3 Awarded OneVA Portal Pilot  / 1.09.08

Task Order Awarded to the Team to Develop Pilot of OneVA Web Portal

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LAUREL, MD, January 09, 2008 –- LS3 Inc. of Columbia, MD, working in close partnership with Aquilent, Inc. of Laurel, MD, has been awarded a $2.9 million contract to design and develop the OneVA Portal Pilot for the Department of Veterans Affairs. The initial focus is on creation of a unified veteran-focused information architecture and site design, identity management, and single sign-on to existing VA web systems. The award is a GSA task order with a 12 month period of performance.

The purpose of this initial pilot is to prove technical and content related concepts for future production implementation in a live portal. LS3 and Aquilent are working to create a portal with a veteran-focused “OneVA” presentation, integration with existing VA portals like My HealtheVet and the Veterans Information Portal (VIP), and single sign-on (SSO) to those and other VA web sites. The intention is to build a portal framework, integrate targeted web components like portals and self service applications, collect and incorporate feedback, and gather additional requirements to improve the final OneVA Portal.

We are extremely excited and proud that VA has selected the LS3-Aquilent team for this important initiative to improve the quality of services delivered to America’s veterans,” said Dave Butler, LS3 Inc. Jay Costenbader, VA Program Manager at Aquilent said, “We are proud to play a part in helping improve VA’s ability to serve those who have so courageously served our country.”

The OneVA Portal pilot project will build upon prior work by VA, LS3 and Aquilent, such as a OneVA Information Architecture and Enterprise Content Management Strategic Transformation Roadmap. The project will also draw on Aquilent’s experience as the core development contractor for the My HealtheVet program and LS3’s subject matter expertise and extensive implementation experience of large scale Enterprise Identity and Access Management and Public Key Infrastructure solutions.
