LAUREL, MD, October 5, 2006 - Aquilent, Inc. announced today the award of a contract from the Department of Veteran's Affairs (VA) to provide services to continue the development and enhancement of the My HealtheVet (MHV) Portal. The base period of the contract is 12 months and valued at $2.1M, with a 12 month contract option of similar value.

My HealtheVet is an ehealth portal that gives veterans, their families and their healthcare providers easy access to health information, tools and services. The portal has progressed through a successful pilot and multiple successive versions. 

Aquilent's development team will work with MHV's Product Lifecycle Management Team to develop new portal infrastructure components and features, to integrate features within the defined portal architecture, and to perform functional application-level testing of features. Features include a prescription (Rx) refill function, ability to view appointments and co-pay balances, and veterans' access to personal health records.

This award demonstrates Aquilent's ability to provide a project team with insight into VA's core business and expertise in the MHV technologies, including Java Enterprise Edition, BEA Web Logic, XML/HTML, Solaris, Oracle, the Rational Unified Process (RUP) and Rational software development tools, quality assurance and automated testing, web usability and accessibility.
